Terms and Conditions

    Standard Terms

  1. By entering the RLWC08 Heroes Ticket Giveaway competition ("Promotion") you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions"):

  2. In the Terms & Conditions:
    • "Grand Final" means the final RLWC08 match scheduled to be played on 22nd November 2008;
    • "RLWC08 Match" means any match between two RLWC08 Teams participating in the Rugby League World Cup 2008;
    • "RLWC08 Team" means one of the 16 teams competing in the Rugby League World Cup 2008; and
    • "Web site" means the web site located at www.rlwc08.com accessible on the internet through the World Wide Web or via other wireless platforms connected to the internet.

    3. Who can enter

  3. Information on how to enter the Promotion form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  4. Entry is only open to Australian residents who comply with these terms and conditions
  5. Directors, management, employees and their immediate families of National Rugby League Ltd and Australian Rugby Football League Ltd and associated agencies are not eligible to enter this Promotion.
  6. The Promotion is conducted by National Rugby League Ltd of The Entertainment Quarter, Level 2, 215 Bent Street, Moore Park NSW 1363 (ACN 082 088 962) ("promoter").

    7. How to enter

  7. The RLWC08 Heroes Ticket Giveaway competition commences at 12pm (AEST) on Thursday, 9th October 2008 and closes at 5pm (AEST) on Sunday, 16th November 2008.
  8. In order to enter, you must fill in the competition form including naming who your Rugby League Hero is and why in 25 words or less. The most creative answers will win.
  9. Online entries must be received by the closing date & time listed in Clause 7. The time of entry for online entrants will be the time at which the completed online entry form is received by the competition's online database via the Web Site.

    10. Prizes

  10. There are 8,500 prizes to be won consisting of 250 double passes to each RLWC08 Match (not including the Grand Final). Total RRP $231,100.
  11. Prizes can be transferred but cannot be redeemed for cash. Prizes do not include flights nor other travel expenses, accommodation, food, insurance of any kind or cash.
  12. Any remaining prizes not distributed or any unclaimed prizes at the close of the promotion will be distributed in the absolute discretion of the promoter. All existing claims for prizes will be met by the promoter notwithstanding the advertised prize pool has been exceeded.
  13. In the event that any prize became unavailable for reasons beyond the promoter’s control, the promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize for a prize of similar value subject to state regulation.

    14. How to win

  14. Each entrant who has entered during the competition period in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and has provided us with their contact details will be entered into the competition (each is a "Qualifying Entrant"). There will be 4,250 winners from the national pool of Qualifying Entrants to win a Prize.
  15. The winners will be contacted by email shortly after they have entered notifying them of whether they have a won.
  16. Qualifying Entrants may select the RLWC08 Match they wish to attend when entering the competition. However, the promoter reserves the absolute right to allocate which RLWC08 Match, which category of ticket and which seat the Qualifying Entrant wins. A Qualifying Entrant cannot request to change the RLWC08 Match, category of ticket or seating allocated by the promoter.
  17. In the event of a dispute, the promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

    18. Liability

  18. The promoter will not be held liable for and will be held harmless from any loss, damage, or injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) which is suffered or sustained, as a result of or arising from the Prize-winner's acceptance of the Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law which will be limited to the value of the Prize pool.
  19. In addition to any other rights, the promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion who is determined at the promoter's absolute discretion to be acting in violation of these Terms and Conditions.
  20. The promoter does not accept responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, illegible or mutilated entries or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur.
  21. By entering the Promotion you agree to the promoter's use of your personal information as described on NRL's Privacy Policy available at www.nrl.com/PrivacyPolicy/tabid/60/Default.aspx.
  22. All entries become the property of the promoter and your name will be included on a database to be owned by NRL. You consent to NRL contacting you in future in relation to other NRL or third party goods and services.
  23. The promoter reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions, withdraw any Prize from the Promotion or alter or cancel all or part of any the Promotion in its absolute discretion without notice.
